15.02.26: A Micron has published the third in a series of academic papers, titled Partial Integration and Trimetric Structures in Altered Scales. It’s a tale of a harrowing journey where our heroes discover the true meaning of Christmas.
14.02.26: Recap: A Micron has been working feverishly the past couple years on many fronts. Since 2024:
- Music:
- – Memorized 5.5/6 of Bach Cello Solos and about 2.5/6 of the Violin Solos in mando-family. Hours a day.
- – Got a guitar and can’t stop flatpicking over them bluegrass chords.
- – New recordings all over the place. 2 ‘New Music’ playlists on homepage right now: one of A Micron mando-family tunes, fugues, solo pieces, etc, and another of sketches written with the Integrator App.
- – Albums: Integration, Solitaire Squared, The Mandol Bunch, and Trimetry within 2 years, three of which were written using A Micron Music Theories and in-house software based on those theories.
- Theory:
- – Published three academic papers so far (announcement incoming!), covering Integration Theory, Trimetric Theory, and Partial Integration Theory.
- – Currently working on a fourth paper, concerned with unifying these established Theories into one Unified Tonal Field Theory (UTF), mapping them to the Complex Unit Circle of Fifths (CUCOF), and unlocking interdimensional harmonic pathways for compositional or analytical navigation.
- Software:
- – The Key^2 Generator: powerful program to take user melody, modal, and key input, perform and output the Standard Integration Operation (SI), and also provide user with tons of info, optional Random Chord Progression (RCP) generation, midi and text export options, and more. This program is a companion to the Integration Theory paper.
- – We are currently working on Key^2 Generator 2.0 – The Integrator. This multiplies to the force of the Key^2 Gen the contorting force of Partial Integration (PI) for Altered Scales. This program is a companion to the Integration Theory and the Partial Integration Theory papers.
- Games:
- – Solitaire Squared – Interactive solitaire/Integration Theory-infused video game. Winning ‘writes’ you a squared song!
- – The Siege of Scale World – Esteemed delegates of Scale World have been kidnapped, the remaining must form coalitions based on ranks to pay the ransom, rescue the hostages, and save Scale World. It’s a text-based RPG about harmonic note relationships in the context of Integration Theory.
- – Integration: Quest – A flashcard-type game to test your Integration skills with multiple melody notes and common keys; it’s practically impossible to beat.
- – We’re currently working on an interactive Chinese Checkers-themed game, which will accompany the three published papers as well as the upcoming fourth paper on UTF Theory.
- – We made a Fourier-Transform code to create the animated A Micron GIF on home page, a still-image of which is also the cover of the A Micron album, Integration.
- Instruments:
- – Manche the mandocello has been wonderful to have with us, but right now she is in ICU – her belly won’t stop swelling and so she had to go back to the doctor.
- – Ol’ Bent Tone the steel-string guitar joins us – after 10+ years, it’s good to be back.
- – Olin and Ola the violin and viola join us, though we’re not promising anything.
- Etc etc so much more but these are just some of the bigger things to go check out. More to come.
30.01.26: Please welcome Harley Bent-tone to the A Micron Family, the first steel-string dreadnought we’ve had in years.
16.05.25: A Micron has unleashed a new album, Solitaire Squared, which is a compilation of tune sketches made entirely from winning the Solitaire Squared game. This album highlights the potential harmonic complexity offered by Integration Theory.
14.02.25: 2025 is already whizzing by! This playlist of clips shows that you can actually make a song playing the Solitaire Squared game! All of the ‘solitaire squared’ pieces are made using the game stats you get when you play and win. These are just rough drafts until further notice. Try it out yourself – the possibilities are practically endless!
30.01.25: Hey gamers! We’ve developed three games, Solitaire Squared, Integration: The Siege of Scale World, and Integration: Quest, to explore Integration Theory in ways more suitable for today’s audiences.
19.01.25: Play Solitaire using A Micron’s unique Integration Theory!
10.01.25: A Micron has released a new album, Integration, a proof-of-concept album written exclusively using A Micron’s very own Integration Theory. You can read the ‘sheet music’ of these pieces in Codeouts.
20.08.25: We’ve developed a powerful interactive program that allows you to experiment and make your own music with this burgeoning new music theory – go check out the Key Squared Generator page and make new sounds!
01.11.24: A Micron has just released its first album of 2024, The Mandol Bunch, featuring our brand new mandocello.

We have unearthed ancient recordings of A Micron from before the triumphant US return – from back in the time of the Old World. Ten compilation albums, recorded from 2008-2014, are now available for your enjoyment. Guerilla recording techniques were and still are essential.

2022 has been yet another interesting year that we’ll soon never see again. To commemorate, we’re pleased to announce a new A Micron album, Cello Cat and the Tropical Bohemians. It’s rough and cello is new to me, but it’s all original and creative stuff.
01.10.22
A Micron welcomes its newest member of the band – Dolly the mandola!
22.08.22
A Micron is about to relocate again, again. This time I’m trading the saucy seductive mistress of KW for the cold, familiar claws of CZ. No, I’m not sure I haven’t gone crazy.
06.06.22
A Micron is about to relocate, again. So long, Mobile, Alabama. Hello, Key West, Florida!
06.01.22
Please welcome the newest member of A Micron – a cello! It’s notoriously difficult at this stage, but I’ll still make music with it; please be patient while I improve!
31.12.21
So long 2021. A Micron is here to commemorate with a new album, Code. Check it out in Albums!
25.12.21
We wish you a Merry Christmas, A Micronians, and a Happy New Year!

A Micron is relocating. Moved out, quit my job, unable to go to Europe, I’m heading to the beach! Most of my instruments are now in storage, and recording capabilities are currently very limited, so new music will be less regular for a while. In the meantime, grab a good set of headphones and really listen to some A Micron albums.
